Ilford & Kodak Film Clips

ILFORD LTD PHOTOFINISHING EQUIPMENT

An illustration to show the "Kodak Double Clip" in use with manual deep tank  processing. It also shows how finishers dealt with several films on one ticket by using plastic numbered tags. The Kodak Double Top clip was patented in 1929 for Kodak by Ambrose William Richardson.

Kodak Double Clips and  Kodak Self Draining Bottom Film Clips. These bottom clips were still used by finishers with C41 colour processors.

The Ilford bottom clip with lead weights that dissolved in Kodak C41 chemistry and an Ilford top clip similar to the type used in the Ilford Roll Film Processors. However this is an earlier manual deep tank type clip as the ones used on the hanger bars of the Roll Film Processor had a single central hole. One day I will find a single hole example. The Ilford Top Clip was patented by a ARTHUR EDWARD PURSLOVE in 1930.
